Clinics Featuring the STEP Program
What is the On-Ice STEP Program? STEP (Sequential Training for Elite Performance) takes the principle of the ADM model and infuses the ADM model with layered drills that promote higher levels of mechanical correction, sector specific offensive concepts, and incorporates the 12 offensive scoring tactics. The STEP program is based on 7 years of statistical research on scoring and puck control tactics. The program is designed by EHS Founder and leading NHL Offensive skills expert, Ron Johnson BSc., MSc. Hockey Biomechanics.
Players will learn:
What Skill to use based on their location
When to use the specific skill
Why the skill should be used
How to use the skill with proper form and function
Players will be videoed and given a mechanical assessment. EHS Instructors are certified on correct mechanical function, which in the end is the single most important element.

EHS Summer Camps
Picking the right developmental program is one of the most important decisions that a player or parent can make. A common mistake that a players/ parents make is they move from hockey camp to hockey camp every spring and summer without a clear and concise objective. Players will be exposed to many fundamentals, that are not primary developmental considerations, i.e. not the skills that they REALLY need to acquire to move up from one level to the next.
Our Summer Camps emphasize proper mechanics, which equate to skills that become necessary for tactics. Our camps are specifically designed for players of all ages and skills levels who are looking to improve throughout the summer. Our Summer Camps will help both Travel players prepare for the upcoming season, and challenge the House level players, who want to advance to the next level. Players will be grouped by age and skill level each week.
Each week of camp will utilize the STEP program for both the On-Ice Sessions and time spent in the EHS Micro Skill Center. Our Off-Ice program will teach proper skating biomechanics, so players can improve faster on the ice.
The instruction EHS Reston provides to players IS NOT common knowledge. We licensed a trademarked developmental program called STEP (Sequential Training for Elite Performance) from a leading NHL skills consultant/expert. We implement STEP in all of the SKATING, STICKHANDLING, PASSING and SHOOTING that we teach.
“I had James do several camps this year of which James through he grew the most in your camp (EHS). I could visibly see growth in skating and shooting throughout the week. I loved the realtime correction and feedback to the students. Most importantly, James had FUN!”Mike Holden
“I have already made the decision that EHS is the only camp we will be attending next summer.”Mike Galaida
